Spanish cement consumption down 2.2% in Q1

Consumption of cement in Spain dropped 2.2% in the first quarter of 2014, which is a much softer fall than in previous months. Taking into account consumption data for the rolling year, cement consumption continues with an accumulated drop of 12.9% to 10.9 million tonnes, which is similar to the figure reached at the close of 2013.

It is estimated that in 2014 there will be a drop of between 7%-8%.
