Consumption of cement in Spain dropped 2.2% in the first quarter of 2014, which is a much softer fall than in previous months.
Weather conditions having been more favourable than normal and no notable festivals were celebrated during the period.
In 2013, Easter fell in March, which caused a holiday stoppage for works.
Taking into account consumption data for the rolling year, cement consumption continues with an accumulated drop of 12.9% to 10.9 million tonnes, which is similar to the figure reached at the close of 2013.
It is estimated that in 2014 there will be a drop of between 7%-8%.
