EPC-UK has started 2018 with a number of changes to its key personnel as part of an ongoing transformation and succession planning process, aimed at securing long-term growth

8023 EPC-UK, a leading British player in commercial explosives and blasting services for quarries, has started 2018 with a number of changes to its key personnel as part of an ongoing transformation and succession planning process aimed at securing long-term growth.

The company’s restructuring has three main priorities: to establish area specific operating teams to ensure speed and accuracy in decision making and resolutions; enhance the development of advanced technologies; and to strengthen EPC-UK’s business fundamentals.

“Our results over the last year have provided a solid foundation for the future,” explains Ben Williams, managing director at EPC-UK.  “The opportunity now is to maintain and accelerate this momentum, building on our strengths.”

To enable these opportunities and take EPC-UK onwards and upwards, several internal structural changes have been implemented. 

Ben Coppock becomes national operations manager, Blasting & Explosives. His primary objective is to oversee, lead and develop the blasting and explosives teams to operational success and profitability, as well as having management responsibility across the functional areas of operations, maintenance, risk management and employee development.

David Bridge, services operations manager, is now responsible for maintaining and developing business in the Northern area, including the efficient and safe utilisation of trucks, rigs and personnel across the region. David will be the key contact for customers, as well as identifying and developing the commercial customer base.

Supporting the commercial manager as trainee sales manager, Ryan Ward will ensure business goals are met, as well as providing support in the development of sales plans, market analysis, forecasts and growth strategies.

Mark Roberts has been made services project manager and will be responsible for the development and implementation of key projects throughout the business, while Lakhy Dhillon, as business and service improvement manager, will take responsibility for the design, scheduling and implementation of improvement projects, change programmes, systems and processes.

Michael Allan has been appointed QCF assessor for Shotfiring and Associated Qualifications, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation achieves its commitment to delivering the QCF programme and achieving the levels set out in the business plan. 

As Rough Close Works operations manager, Chris Barlow is responsible for all site activities and infrastructures comprising of manufacturing, assembly, storage, maintenance, site utilities, quality, safety, environment, and security.  He will also liaise with all relevant regulators and planning parties to achieve sustainable site operations.

“This reorganisation reflects our plan to refocus our resources, helping us to better identify current and future customer needs, and partner with our customers to meet and go beyond the required standards identified by the market,” continues Ben.
