Italian company 1796 Baioni is looking to export more of its Unicompact crushing and screening plants, particularly in Russia, where a number are already working. The Unicompact is a complete mobile unit and has just one supporting frame, said Dr Angelo Reina, general manager Far East.

The unit's hopper discharges the material to a carriage feeder which feeds material to the primary jaw crusher (a BP 600-BP 700/500). Crushed material is then sent to a vibrating screen to be sorted into various sizes, and any oversize is sent to a secondary cone or impact crusher (GC600-S60).

"All the components are produced by Baioni. What is special about this machine is that everything is in one supporting frame on wheels. The plant can be moved anywhere you want to work," said Reina. "Everything is included even the conveyor belt to stockpile material. You only need to connect with a cable and you are ready to work." The Unicompact, which can produce up to 60tonnes/hour is capable of treating hard and abrasive material or limestone, and is often used on highway projects.

"In Siberia there is a project to build a road from Irkutz to Cita, some 600km, and already in that region we have three of these plants working. While the project is not yet started it is one of the construction projects we will be looking at. Our plants are working on road construction but not on this particular project," said Reina.

One of the machines working in Siberia has been specially modified by making the feed size larger by enlarging the jaw crusher and using a 3m screen.

"We also supply fixed plant and for this the production range is 150-200tonnes/hour. We built one such plant in Krasnodar on the Black Sea," said Reina. "The fixed plant was a special machine. The raw material used had a lot of clay in it. So we use a 'wobbler' for clearing the waste. This is fitted between the feeder and the primary crusher, which could be an impact crusher or a cone crusher. The wobbler cleans the material before crushing takes place."
