DXB Pump & Power extends engine flex allowance for Stage 3B solutions to quarry and mining customers

DXB Pump & Power, a new entrant to the UK’s quarry and mining pump manufacturing sector, has been granted a further 150 engines in its EU Stage 3B (Stage 3B) emissions flex allowance, enabling its customers to continue to order non Ad-Blue engines until 2020. The Stage 3B engines from JCB allows the company to extend their offering of 4.5litre pumpsets up to 120kW supplying pumpsets which have flows up to 1400m³/hr and pressures up to 140m (14 bar) all from a four cylinder turbocharged engine.

The Stage 3B engines from 633 JCB allows the company to extend their offering of 4.5litre pumpsets up to 120kW supplying pumpsets which have flows up to 1400m³/hr and pressures up to 140m (14 bar) all from a four cylinder turbocharged engine.

Simon Ruffles, managing director of DXB Pump & Power, said: “We are delighted that our application to extend our flex allowance to a further 150 engines takes our total allowance to over 200 engines for these sizes until 2020 which is fantastic not only for us but also our customers that are finding themselves under pressure to source pumpsets with Ad-Blue requirements.”

He continued “The JCB 444 engine is simply the finest engine range for equipment like ours, offering power bands from 45kW right through to 120kW. When combined with our extensive range of pumps, our quarry customers and those that buy pumps to rent to the quarries do not have to concern themselves about Ad-Blue and higher maintenance costs.”

The DXB range of engine driven portable pumps are available in Stage 3B, Stage 4 and Stage 5 for various markets up to 445kW, but the largest demand is for 3 inch to 8 inch sets used on quarries for general dewatering or wash plant feed pumps.

All DXB Pumpsets are available with DXB control systems that not only monitor the engine but they can also monitor the health and operation of the pump allowing for optimisation of the running of the pumps to reduce fuel burn and costs of operation, even from a quarry manager’s desk.

Ruffles added: “With pumpsets over 85% efficient and powered by these great JCB engines, we are confident that there is no other pump on the market that pumps so much water over any distance and that uses less fuel than ours, and to a quarry or mining company running pumps every day for eight to twelve hours a day, that could mean a fuel saving of over £20,000 per year, per quarry.”
