On more than 100 pages, HeidelbergCement's twelfth Sustainability Report provides detailed information about the company's path to climate neutrality and its strategy and activities in the areas of environment, social responsibility, and governance.

The report is based for the first time on the disclosure recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), which has officially supported since September 2020. With the integration of the TCFD report into the Sustainability Report, the company is successively expanding its data collection and reporting.

The report complies with the established standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and has been validated in accordance with the GRI option: "Core". It also underlines the company's commitment to the principles of the UN Global Compact (UN GC) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The selection of topics is based on a materiality analysis carried out in 2020, during which HeidelbergCement surveyed around 250 stakeholders – including members of NGOs and associations, representatives from politics, business and the capital market, as well as employees, customers, and suppliers.
