Miller International director honoured with MBE

Jacqui is responsible for all group activities relating to sales and product distribution channels at the engineering company, as well as setting and executing the company’s marketing strategy. RSSJacqui Miller, sales and marketing director of north-east England-based 7088 Miller International, has been recognised with an MBE for services to industry and international trade in the 2013 New Year’s Honours List.

Jacqui is responsible for all group activities relating to sales and product distribution channels at the engineering company, as well as setting and executing the company’s marketing strategy. In addition she is a member of the Miller International board and a shareholder alongside her two siblings.

Miller was established in 1978 by Jacqui’s elder brother Keith, and their brother Gary joined in 1979 and she completed the sibling team in 1981.

Starting as a mobile welding and repair service for quarries, mines and open cast coal sites, the business has grown to operate on a global basis. Its main manufacturing site is in Cramlington, north-east England and it also supplies the latest in coupler technology from its joint venture casting facility in northern China.

From both sites Miller manufactures a range of buckets, quick couplers and other attachments for the earthmoving industry as well as providing a custom-build service which offers specialised and one-off products, which are tailor-made to suit specific applications, machines and environments.

Miller’s customers include manufacturers such as 395 Caterpillar, 473 Volvo, 633 JCB, 7044 CNH, 436 Komatsu and 6512 Hitachi.

Jacqui has recently focussed on the emerging markets of India and China, while “pushing the boundaries” of other new markets such as Australia, the Middle East and Russia.
