Cement sales in Vietnam reached 5.29 million tonnes in August 2014, a climb of 3% from a year ago and 2% month-on-month.
August 2014 is the first straight month that sales of cement hit 5-6 million tonnes.
During January to August 2014, 42.53 million tonnes of cement were sold by companies in the country, a rise of 8% from the corresponding period of 2014.
Of the 42.53 million tonnes, 9.68 million were exported, while 32.85 million tonnes of cement were offloaded in the local market.
In the cited period, consumption of cement in the domestic market bounced back to reach a sustainable level.
