Comer Industries, the Italy-based power transmission solutions manufacturer, saw its consolidated turnover rise 6% to €361 million in 2014, compared to the previous year.

The most significant performance was achieved in the industrial area (+5% over 2013), particularly the wind power sector, while the agricultural market fell 3% compared to 2013. Sixty per cent of revenue was gained in the European Union, and 33% in North and Central America, a slight increase over the past year.

The year 2014 also marked the completion of the €12 million rebuilding and expansion work of Comer Industries’ historical plant in Reggiolo, Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, which was badly damaged by a 2012 earthquake. The new industrial complex, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for energy saving and environmental sustainability, extends over a surface area of over 20,000m² for a production capacity of 450,000 pieces per year.

The rebuilding of the Reggiolo factory is included in the Three-Year Strategic Plan, approved by the company on last September, based on the implementation of the Comer Business System (CBS), aimed at the optimisation of company processes and increasing efficiency and competitiveness.

“The 2014 result proves that Comer Industries is going in the right direction,” – said Fabio Storchi, the company’s president and CEO. “Thanks to our associates, the company’s ability to innovate and the continuous search for improvement in all areas. With our products, we are contributing to build a better world and we are promoting responsible agriculture, aimed at feeding the planet and preserving natural resources,” continued Storchi.
