460 Sandvik Mining and Construction has added another breaker featuring improved functionality to its product line up with the launch of the BR2577. The new 1.7tonne unit is designed for use with carriers in the 23 to 28tonne weight class and replaces the BR2568 unit (previously E68).

The redesigned hammer features Sandvik's Fixed Blow Energy system that helps it to deliver 450 to 750 blows per minute.

According to Sandvik, a key part of the redesign means that it is more flexible and has a range of options that can be specified at the time of purchase or retrofitted later to match the application, material and budget. Options featured under this flexible design include a safety valve to protect the breaker from poor hydraulic installation, an idle blow protector to prevent blank firing and a soft blow sensor which automatically reduces the power and frequency in softer conditions.Specification
