According to experts, concrete consumption in Russia may amount to 62 million tonnes in 2012, and the market may grow by 9-10%.

Demand for concrete in the Southern and North-Caucasian Federal Districts is growing by 15-20% per month during the peak construction season.

Concrete prices have increased, and they are growing mainly due to increasing construction volumes and growing tariff rates for energy and rail transportation. Motor transport accounted for 45% of cement transportation and its share continues to grow. Average transportation distance totals 400-500km.

Imported concrete accounted for 2.1mn tonnes (2.6 fold growth, 3% of market in 2011) of Russia's southern region's markets. The main suppliers are Turkey and Iran.
