Banner Contracts has boosted its fleet of 668 Terex Finlay machines with a new C1540 cone crusher, supplied by Finlay Plant Northern.

The delivery of the C1450 cone crusher increases Banner Contracts’ Terex Finlay fleet to eight machines in total.

Capable of processing up to 150tonnes/hour, the C1540 has a built-in single deck pre-screen, which allows Banner Contracts to process material, removing the fines before it reaches the cone. This means the company can remove any undersized product beforehand, to increase productivity.

This latest addition is currently working on Banner Contracts’ limestone operations, crushing 200mm stone down to -50mm. Most of this material is then sent to the onsite kiln.

The plant is also proving a versatile addition for Banner Contracts with its other work, crushing Whinstone making aggregates for asphalt.

Aggregate selected for this work must be processed into a clean product of a precise size and shape, and the cone crusher is capable of delivering the cubical shape required.

Based in Halnaby, Darlington, northern England, Banner Contracts was established in 1992 by Mike Banner.

The company is now run by his two sons Joe and Andrew, and delivers contract crushing, screening and the washing of aggregates, earthmoving and plant hire services throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Joe Banner, director of Banner Contracts said: “We have a strong relationship with Finlay Northern, which has developed over a number of years. It started with my father and has continued to progress with my brother and myself.

“We are really happy with the cone crusher’s productivity and its adaptability means we can use it on different jobs as and when we require.”

Charlie Nairn, director of Finlay Northern Plant, said: “We are happy to have provided this versatile plant to Banner Contracts and extended our partnership with them.

“The C1450 shapes the material well to produce a high value product.”
