Russia: St.Petersburg's concrete market to grow 7% in 2013

Experts anticipate a 7% growth of the ready-mix concrete market in St Petersburg and the Leningrad region of Russia in 2013 compared with 15% in 2012. The market, however, is expected to retain its structure, except that some small companies are likely to quit business. In Q1-Q3 2013, 4.6 million m³ of concrete was produced in the region (compare with 6 million m³ in 2012).

Experts anticipate a 7% growth of the ready-mix concrete market in St Petersburg and the Leningrad region of Russia in 2013 compared with 15% in 2012.

The market, however, is expected to retain its structure, except that some small companies are likely to quit business. In Q1-Q3 2013, 4.6 million m³ of concrete was produced in the region (compare with 6 million m³ in 2012).

Analysts report between 80 and 100 concrete manufacturers in the market, with 3777 LSR. Aggregates and Ready-Mix Concrete - North-West; LenStroyDetal, Beaton; TSK Beton; Molodoy Udarnik and Leader Beton said to be the leading manufacturers.

Some of the manufacturers are enhancing their production capacities. For instance, LSR. Aggregates and Ready-Mix Concrete - North-Wes' has launched two concrete plants in 2013 (in the Nevsky district of St Petersburg and in the Leningrad region) and is to launch another plant in the Primorsky district of St Petersburg soon.
